We’ve all been there; Wrecking our brains as to why people aren’t visiting our website after putting so much time, effort, and money into its creation.
The thing is, creating a beautifully designed & strategically built website is the main foundation. Now that you have your shop window, let’s talk about how to get more clients through the door to grow your business by boosting traffic
#1 Advertise
This may sound like a pretty broad term nowadays, but whatever your target audience and what platforms you use, paid ads are an excellent way of getting your brand in front of the right people.
However, before you start throwing lots of money at Facebook, Google, or other platforms, make sure you do your research or outsource. Decide on a strategy that works for your business, and experiment with different methods by analyzing results.
#2 Funnel
Your website’s homepage is your most valuable “real estate” when it comes to enticing users to engage with your brand by raising their hand to sign up for your newsletter, engage on socials or even book a call. However, it’s important to ask the question: How do we get people to the homepage in the first place?
Just as we create a journey for when people use our website, we need to create a journey to get them there. This will look different for every business, but there will also be some key similarities as well. Communication channels such as social media platforms, email marketing, SMS, and printed media, are all ways of reaching out to your target market and bringing them on a journey.
For example, perhaps I see an ad on Instagram that encourages me to follow the account. Then, I engage with the account’s organic content, which asks me to subscribe to a weekly newsletter. Perhaps I receive a one-off discount code for signing up, which takes me to the website’s homepage. This might not be the right journey for your brand, but by funneling people through a well-thought-out pathway, you will attract new visitors and drive more traffic to your website..
#3 SEO
Optimizing your content for search engines is a surefire way to boost your web traffic.
Make SEO a consistent practice by having a checklist for every time you upload new content to the website, including image alt text, internal links, and keywords. It doesn’t have to be complicated, but creating these habits will increase organic traffic without spending a penny.
#4 Diversify
The average person sees up to 10,000 advertisements every single day. To ensure that your brand cuts through the noise, offer your website visitors a diversity of content.
This means that your website, and all of your communication channels, will have a range of media. From video and text to infographics and audio, you can keep your audience engaged for longer by bringing them fresh, new content on a regular basis.
