An effective & strategic About page is barely even about YOU - it’s about how you help your clients (& lots of CTA to work together)
I know - takes off a lot of pressure not having to fill a whole page about YOURSELF!
Let’s break it down:
Above the scroll/First thing someone sees on your About page: Name exactly what your client wants then confirm they are in the right place/found the solution in YOU!
Next: Confirm more desires your ideal client has & why they want it - their ultimate or personal goal (have the freedom to travel, be financially stable, raise awareness, etc.) PRO TIP: Keep it simple/scannable!
Next: Start painting the picture of what is holding them back from achieving these goals (AKA the pain points)
Next: “You wish” statement: emphasize solutions you provide/perks of working with you!
Next: I know you were waiting for this - The Introduction! Introduce yourself, the niche you serve, your services/problems you solve, and why you love helping your niche/ideal clients (this is where you can add 1 or 2 fun details about you for personality & a nice pic of you) PRO TIP: Include a clear, professional photo of you looking into the camera & smiling!
Lastly: Wrap it up! Short & sweet - tell them the good news (they won’t have to worry about [pain points]) & explain the next steps to work together ✨(your CTA)✨
This formula is KEY to helping your dream clients understand that you get them, know them and what your offering is a solution to their problem!
